Records Management Officer Job in Kenya – Financial Reporting Centre (FRC)

The Financial Reporting Centre (FRC) is a government agency created by the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act (POCAMLA) 2009, with the principal objective of identifying the proceeds of crime, combating money laundering, and fighting the financing of terrorism.

In order to enhance institutional capacity to deliver on its mandate, FRC is seeking to recruit qualified and competent personnel to fill the folowing position:

RECORDS MANAGEMENT OFFICER

REF: CS2/06/2020

FRC GRADE 6

ONE (1) POST

The Records Management Officer will be reporting to the Senior Records Management Officer.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:-

i. Developing and implementing records management policies and procedures;

ii. Proper handling of vital documents;

iii. Ensuring effective mail management;

iv. Ensuring proper classification and indexing of records;

v. Maintaining, verifying and evaluating the records management systems;

vi. Ensuring security of files and information; and

vii. Preparing disposal schedules in accordance with relevant government laws and regulations.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

i. At least three (3) years working experience in records management;

ii. Bachelors’ Degree in Information Science / Library Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

iii. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya; and

iv. Must be a citizen of Kenya.

Key Competencies and Skills

i. Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills;

ii. Excellent organizing skills;

iii. Must be a team player; and

iv. Proficiency in Computer applications.
