Job Title: Sales Engineer – Drainage Systems

Our client is a market leader in the provision of waste management solutions and drainage technology.

They seek to hire a result-oriented Sales Engineer who will be tasked with building and growing the business in Kenya by identifying key partners (distributors, construction retails, plumbers, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze tender and construction drawings
  • Organize daily work schedule to make appointments to meet new and existing customers
  • Search for new clients who could benefit from company products in a designated region
  • Establish new, and maintain existing relationships with customers
  • Negotiate tender and contract terms
  • Prepare sales reports as required to be presented to the head office
  • Consistently meet sales targets
  • Record and maintain client contact data
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Provide technical training and producing support material for the sales team
  • Attend to customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports
  • Recommend changes in products, service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 year of sales experience in the plumbing/construction industry
  • Strong networker, empathetic, team player
  • Preferred Technical University degree (mechanical or civil engineering)
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage manufacturing plants drainage requirements is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Sewage Treatment Plant design, sizing and operation is an advantage
  • Respectable, humble and intelligent individual with strong listening skills
  • Adapt communication (both spoken and written) to different levels of the organization (from top management to technicians) as well as to different nationalities
  • Result driven with customer-oriented approach
  • Good knowledge computer skills (AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced English, another language is an advantage
  • Asian Candidate are encouraged to apply
