Our client, a leading entity in the pension industry with a subsidiary company in Insurance Brokerage, is currently seeking a proficient Business Development Manager- Insurance Brokerage to join their dynamic team.

 

Overall purpose:

 

The Business Development Manager – Insurance Brokerage is responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the insurance brokerage’s client base and revenue streams. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with both clients & insurance providers, and leading a team of business development officers to achieve strategic targets.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Business Growth &Market Expansion:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to expand the organization’s market presence and client base.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including partnerships with insurance providers and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the sector.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set strategic goals and align them with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on product offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning to enhance competitiveness.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the business development team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, collaboration, and exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

Client and Providers Relationship Management:

  • Identify and engage potential clients, leveraging existing networks and developing new leads.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their insurance needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Oversee client presentations, negotiations, and proposal development to secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance providers to ensure access to competitive products and services.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with providers to deliver value-added solutions to clients.

Marketing and Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve business development targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying cross-selling and up selling opportunities within existing client portfolios.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the organization’s services and enhance brand visibility.
  • Promote the firm’s services through targeted marketing initiatives and client engagement activities.
  • Provide training and support to intermediaries and partners to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.

Corporate Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies governing insurance operations.
  • Implement robust data protection and privacy practices to safeguard client and provider information.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices to ensure the company operates within legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • A certification in MSK or chartered institute of marketing would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 6-7 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position within the insurance or related sector.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, building client relationships, and managing provider partnerships.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, intermediary operations, and regulatory frameworks.
