This position is based in the Nairobi office and reports to the Transport Manager
The Need.
As we grow and aspire to continue delivering exceptional guests’ services, we are seeking to hire a professional Nairobi Driver to join our amazing team. The main role for this position is to drive and escort guests in luxury, comfort and safety to the accomplishment and enjoyment of their safari within Nairobi and its environs. Will also provide safe transportation of authorized staff to different locations within Nairobi.
Key Deliverables.
- Drive guests, Staff and other authorized persons as per instructions
- Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and Company’s agreed driving standards.
- Ensure the safety of guests, oneself and other road users at all times.
- Carry out assignments as per Transport Chart and instructions given by the Transport Manager
- Ensure the vehicle is kept secure, clean, tidy and in good and serviceable mechanical condition always
- Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring report, including records of vehicle maintenance, expenses, mileage, as per the Company’s transport guidelines.
- Keep an accurate Logbook of daily movements, servicing and vehicle defects. Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, etc
- Assist guests with delivery of luggage to and from the vehicle.
- Runs Company’s transport official errands and assist with other office work as instructed.
- Ensure vehicle insurance and other Government licenses requirements are updated according to schedule.
- Maintain high profile image of the Company and follow a code of conduct.
Qualifications
- Certificate in Travel and tourism management from a recognized college or university.
- Must have a minimum of Bronze certification from KPSGA
- Five (5) years’ driving experience in a busy Tour and travel firm or in hospitality industry within Nairobi.
- Clean Driving license and a valid Tourism License
- A current certificate of good conduct is a must
Key Competencies
- Familiarity with the Nairobi routes and key tourist destinations
- Excellent Guest’s service skills. Experience in VIP escort is desirable.
- Great interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Can comfortably work on varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Great personality and demonstrate high level of professionalism.
