HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER
Role overview: The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the human capital of the entire organization and ensuring alignment between human resources and the company's business plans and strategies are delivered through people. This role will require someone with a keen eye for detail, big-picture thinking, and a yearning for results.

Salary range: Kshs 180,000-250,000

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategically support business growth through organizational design to ensure that the organization remains optimally positioned to survive and excel in the market.
- Liaising with the CEO, COO, sector heads, heads of departments, branch team leaders, and other critical members of the team to establish talent requirements and provide recruitment solutions to meet existing and emerging needs.
- Support organizational change by refining the desired outcomes, creating an accurate scope, establishing clear roles, and objective decision-making.
- Identifying emerging workforce and talent trends and recommending solutions to improve employee attraction, performance, retention, development, and employee value proposition.
- Design, lead, and work closely with heads of departments to ensure all approved HR initiatives/programs are implemented effectively within the entire organization.
- Work with business leaders to define the organization structure, key measurement, key success factor.
- Developing staff competencies and skills through continuous training of products and policies for performance improvement as per set targets and standards.
- Facilitating implementation of a feedback mechanism at strategic touch points to facilitate open discussions of organizational improvement opportunities from employees.
- Oversee staff training and development, competencies, and skills development through continuous internal and external training on policies, procedures as well as core skills and soft skills necessary for performance of tasks.
- Ensure all HR practices, policies and records are in full compliance with statutory requirements and any inconsistencies and non-compliances are addressed.
- Create a system to measure/assess understanding, buy-in, and support of HR change management activities and initiatives rolled out by the company from time to time.
- Provide the needed HR support for all organization's projects, programs, or activities that require HR intervention or contribution.
- With other senior leaders, establish, build, and maintain a favorable organizational culture that supports the business goals across the organization.
- Work to ensure continuity and consistency by promoting, recognizing, and rewarding discipline across the entire organization.
- Strategically manage the organization's reward and compensation system by ensuring pay equity, pay reviews, alignment with performance, pay adequacy, pay competitiveness, and the integrity and correctness of the company’s payroll.
- Maintain the organization's stability by ensuring that appropriate HR policies, procedures, and processes are developed, implemented, and documented.
- Handle external engagements relating to Human resources with regulators, peers, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Performing any other tasks as may be requested from time to time.
PERSON SPECIFICATION (QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE)
- A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent field from a recognized institution.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in HR (Masters, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, CHRP-K) is an added advantage.
- A member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) is desirable.
- Not less than 6 years of work experience with three years in Banking/Microfinance/Credit industry/Insurance industries.
- Excellent problem-resolution, conflict, and team management skills.
- Proven track record of success in ambiguous and complex environments.
- Hands-on and innovative thinker who can deliver solutions to new challenges.
- A strategic thinker with an eye for detail as well as the big picture perspective.
- Report writing skills, Excellent people skills, communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated team leadership and a sense of responsibility.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite namely MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge and experience of HR information systems (HRIS) desirable.
- Maturity, honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics
