Position Title: Project Driver - HealthFin Diaries Project

Duration: 24 Months (Fixed Term)

Reports To: Project Manager

Kenya HealthFin Diaries: Georgetown University (gui²de) in Kenya and Ekko Insights are collaborating on a new research project aimed at developing a detailed understanding of health experience and health-seeking behavior among Kenyan families, contextualized within the realities of household finances.

This research will involve recruiting more than 300 families to participate and supporting a team of full-time researchers visiting these families every two weeks for one year to collect detailed data on household finances and health experiences.

This research is meant to inform key decision makers and practitioners in the health and financial services space as well as to provide up-to-date insights to the development community more broadly.

Role Summary: We're seeking a dedicated and skilled driver to support our field operations and ensure the smooth transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment within and outside Nairobi.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently transport project staff and Stakeholders to various locations within the country where the project will be implemented.
  • Maintain the project vehicle in excellent condition, ensuring regular servicing and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, prioritizing safety always.
  • Assist with logistical tasks, such as loading and unloading materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Represent the project professionally when interacting with community members and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Kenyan driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably with experience in [Nairobi, project-based work, and remote areas].
  • Excellent knowledge of the local areas and road network.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to traffic regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with [4x4 vehicles] is a plus.
