Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our client a leading provider of smart, prepaid sub-metering solutions for
electricity, water and gas is seeking a driven and experienced Sales & Marketing Manager. The client
primarily serves landlords, property managers and businesses and is looking for a long-term hire who will
provide stability and continuity to a well-established Sales & Marketing department.
The ideal candidate is highly energetic, field-oriented, and commercially sharp, with a proven ability to
manage regional sales teams, grow agent networks, and consistently deliver results. This role requires
someone who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment and is comfortable with frequent national
travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Manage and lead regional sales teams across the country to meet and exceed monthly sales targets.
 Maintain a sales target of approximately 3,000 prepaid meters per month and drive consistent
performance.
 Continuously follow up on leads and pipeline activity, ensuring the team converts prospects into
closed deals.
 Build and maintain strong relationships with existing agents, dealers and resellers – supporting them
in closing business.
 Undertake field visits across key regions including Nairobi, Mombasa and upcountry to acquire new
customers and expand market reach.
 Manage agent stock allocation, utilization, and reconciliation.
 Support and drive the launch of new product lines including the upcoming gas meter range.
 Manage walk-in customers and ensure high-quality customer engagement.
 Provide accurate daily and weekly sales reports to management – this is a critical requirement for
this role.
 Track and report on team KPIs, pipeline status, regional performance and forecasts.
 Submit market feedback, competitor intelligence and operational insights on a regular basis.
 Ensure optimal utilization of departmental resources including budgets, logistics and personnel.
 Liaise with and follow up on the outsourced digital marketing team to ensure inbound leads are
actioned and converted to sales.
 Support and coordinate participation in exhibitions, expos, trade fairs and field activations.
 Monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities and provide input on campaigns and promotions.
 Support branding and digital platform activities including social media and the company website.
 Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, including pipeline management, forecast
accuracy, and customer feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS
 Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or a
related field.
 Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a field sales or sales management role.
 Background in technical or field-driven industries strongly preferred – e.g. metering, engineering
products, FMCG field sales, insurance or similar.
 Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and growing agent/dealer networks.
 Experience managing sales teams across multiple regions.
 Exposure to startup or SME environments is an advantage.
 Must be digitally savvy – able to work with CRM tools, digital leads and reporting platforms.
 Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
 Willingness and ability to travel extensively on a national basis.

Expected Salary: 80,000-100,000
Travel Per Diem and transport provided
