Job Title: System Tester
Location: Kenya & Djibouti
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled System Tester to support the testing and quality assurance of a tracking system and RFID equipment installation for freight trucks across Kenya and Djibouti. The System Tester will be responsible for preparing and executing test plans, analyzing test results, and ensuring the system meets all technical and usability requirements. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in software testing, proficiency in reviewing software requirements, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Plan Preparation:
- Prepare comprehensive test plan documents that outline testing strategies, objectives, resources, and schedules.
2. Test Case Development:
- Write detailed test cases based on software requirements and project specifications.
3. Test Case Execution:
- Execute test cases to verify software functionality, usability, and performance.
- Ensure that all tests are carried out accurately and efficiently.
4. Test Reporting:
- Analyze test results, identify any errors, bugs, or issues, and report them clearly.
- Prepare reports on testing outcomes and share findings with the design and development teams.
5. Software Requirement Review:
- Review software requirements to ensure understanding of the system's functionality and intended user experience.
- Develop test scenarios that align with the project's goals and client requirements.
6. Usability Testing:
- Execute usability tests to assess the system's ease of use, reliability, and functionality.
- Analyze database impacts and ensure the system performs optimally.
7. Client Interaction:
- Interact with clients to gather feedback on product requirements and testing expectations.
8. Design Reviews:
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on software requirements, product design, and potential challenges.
9. User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
- Develop UAT documents and participate in UAT sessions with the client to ensure the system meets their expectations and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certification: ISTQB certification or equivalent is required.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in software/system testing.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to write clear and concise test plans, cases, and reports.
- Proficiency in identifying and documenting bugs, errors, and usability issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility in working hours may be required.
- The position will involve travel between Kenya and Djibouti as needed for testing and project implementation.
