Description

The Sandstorm Group comprises of two business units:

  • Sandstorm Kenya: Established in 2002, it is Kenya’s foremost bag and accessories brand with six retail locations in Nairobi and e-commerce serving Kenya and the world.
  • Opportunity Factory: Established in 2022, it offers product development, sampling, and distributed manufacturing management for artisan craft, alongside other facilities, creating a unique visitor destination.

They seek to hire a Commercial Director who will play a central role in driving the profitable growth of the business with P&L responsibility for B2C channels and revenue responsibility for B2B.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies that drive brand growth, revenue, and market share, across both B2C and B2B channels.
  2. Drive revenue growth, negotiate terms, and provide solutions to enhance growth.
  3. Manage budgets and lead high-performing teams for effective execution.
  4. Lead a team to meet sales targets, and improve customer acquisition rates.
  5. Utilize data-driven decision-making, including setting and tracking key metrics.
  6. Work with CRM tools and digital channels, including e-commerce and omni-channel methodologies.
  7. Build, lead, and motivate a highly skilled and tightly knit sales and marketing team.
  8. Oversee market intelligence, research, trends, and competitor analysis.
  9. Establish and nurture relationships with key partners, suppliers, and distributors.
  10. Continuously identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  11. Enhance customer engagement, retention, and satisfaction in-store and online.

Required Specifications

  1. Mandatory- Background in FMCG or physical retail. 
  2. Experience in omni-channel environments, digital channels, and e-commerce.
  3. Strong understanding of CRM tools and data measurement.
  4. Passion for data-driven decision-making
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills
