JOB TITLE: ICT CONSULTANT

JOB LOCATION: NAIROBI

PURPOSE

We are seeking a talented and experienced ICT Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of information and communication technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients. As an ICT Consultant, you will play a key role in helping our clients leverage technology to improve their operations and achieve their strategic objectives.

1. Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and ICT needs.
2. Conduct ICT assessments to evaluate existing infrastructure, systems, and processes.
3. Develop customised ICT strategies and solutions to address client requirements.
4. Provide expert advice and guidance on ICT best practices and emerging technologies.
5. Design and implement ICT architectures, networks, and systems to optimise performance and security.
6. Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients for ICT issues.
7. Evaluate and recommend ICT hardware, software, and cloud solutions.
8. Conduct ICT training sessions for client staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
9. Ensure compliance with ICT regulations and standards in Kenya.
10. Manage ICT projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting and resource allocation.
11. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for ICT projects.
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and project managers.
13. Stay up-to-date with ICT trends, innovations, and industry developments.
14. Conduct research and feasibility studies for new ICT initiatives.
15. Develop and maintain ICT documentation, including technical specifications and user manuals.
16. Participate in ICT vendor selection and contract negotiation processes.
17. Monitor and optimize ICT performance, security, and scalability.
18. Implement data backup and disaster recovery solutions for clients.
19. Develop ICT policies, procedures, and guidelines for clients.
20. Conduct ICT audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
21. Provide strategic advice on ICT investments and resource allocation.
22. Facilitate ICT governance meetings and decision-making processes.
23. Analyze ICT metrics and KPIs to track performance and identify areas for optimization.
24. Foster positive relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
25. Act as a liaison between clients and ICT vendors, service providers, and regulatory authorities.
26. Continuously improve ICT service delivery processes and methodologies based on feedback and lessons learned.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION

1. Hold a university degree (Bachelor +5) in ICT, Management Information Systems (Software Engineers and Business Analysts), Mathematics and Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related discipline.
2. Have a proven track record in improving organizational performance through technology, evaluating ICT against industry best practices, and designing and implementing ICT systems and solutions in Africa.
3. Have at least 10 years of consulting experience in designing and implementing ICT systems and solutions.
4. Have experience in the fields of IT expertise, specifically in needs analysis, infrastructure design, and networking, as well as in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), networking, and managing migration flows at borders would be a major advantage.
5. Knowledge of best practices in ICT-related processes and procedures in both developed and developing countries, including the ability to mitigate potential risks.
6. Have excellent command of French.
7. Proficiency in spoken and written English would be an asset.
